New Yorkers: is your story on the subway?!
If you ride the subway in New York, you might have already spotted some of the Handy customer quotes on the train. We have some amazing professionals and customers in NYC so we wanted to take the time to share a little more about the people behind those quotes, and what Handy means for them.
Desi, Cleaning Professional, Brooklyn
Desi’s 28, a mother of three, born and brought up in Brooklyn, New York.
She used to work as a school’s administrator but decided to change her career to become a cleaning professional on the Handy platform to give her more flexibility to spend time with her kids. Her customer, Justin, said she’s a one in a million, “My apartment has never looked better!”
“My eldest daughter, she’s 16, and she remembers what it was like when I worked in the corporate world. I couldn’t be the mom I wanted to be. Cleaning is genuinely something I love to do, I love meeting new people and caring for their homes, and now I have the flexibility to do that and be a great mom.”

Stu, Handy Customer, Manhattan
Stu’s originally from New York so he’s had a long-term experience with different cleaning professionals in the city. He switched to Handy in 2015 because he felt greater trust in using a larger organization.
“The great thing for me is the convenience it allows me to work around my life. As I work in radio, I have early mornings and I’m finished by noon. The cleaning pro comes at 12:30, which means I can go to the gym, work out, and by the time I get back, the house is spotless.”
He said all the pros he had were great, but Carol (pictured with Stu above) did a particularly stand-out job. “My wife really noticed how thorough Carol was – if the place looks great she’s happy. If she’s happy, I’m happy!”
