We’ve Got Every Corner Covered: In addition to quality home cleaning services, our #HandyTipTuesday series presents tips & tricks so you can let your home shine and get the most out of your summer.
Gnats often infest homes during the warmer summer months, especially in rooms like the kitchen where they can find food. Learn how to get rid of gnats with this easy, chemical-free method using items you probably already have in your home!
What You’ll Need: apple cider vinegar, dish soap, a jar or tall glass
- Fill the jar 1/2 to 3/4 full with the apple cider vinegar (the scent will attracts the bugs)
- Add a few drops of dish soap into the vinegar
- Fill the rest of the container with water — the soap & soap bubbles at the top will make the liquid sticky & will catch the bugs
If you aren’t happy with the number of gnats your trap is catching, try this variation: make the same mixture in a wide-rimmed cup or bowl and cover it with a layer of tin foil. Then poke holes in the tin foil large enough for the bugs to enter, but small enough to make it difficult for them to fly out after their wings are weighed down with the soapy concoction.
